Thermodynamic analysis with energy recovery comparison of transcritical CO2 heat pump system using various expansion devices.

The high irreversibility caused by the expansion valve in conventional transcritical CO2 heat pump cycle has been reported as major drawback on overall system performance. To overcome this problem and recover some of energy lost, different isentropic devices such turbine expander two phase ejector have proposed. This study aims to numerically compare performance transcrtical terms first second law thermodynamics. In addition, recovered cycles evaluated. pressure recovery entrainment ratio device were investigated comprehensively. Two numerical models using MATLAB ASPEN PLUS software developed, REFPROP database was used estimate refrigerant thermophysical properties. results showed that heating coefficient (COPh) is higher than 10.15 % 20.84 respectively. highest efficiency (0.1) (0.63 kW) compared (0.107 gained cycle. least exergy destruction (0.2 can 0.7 Mpa losses.
